Apple Pay FAQs

Q: What is Apple Pay?
A: Apple Pay is a mobile payment/digital wallet service that allows users to perform contactless payments as well as in-app purchases with their device. 

Q: Who can use Apple Pay?
A:
All Pima Federal Visa® cards (debit & credit) are eligible for use with Apple Pay on the following devices: 

• iPhone® 6
• iPhone 6 Plus
• iPad™ Air 2
• iPad Mini 3 
• Apple Watch™

Q: Is there a fee to use Apple Pay?
A:
No. Pima Federal does not charge to use Apple Pay, however please be aware data rates may apply depending on your data plan. For questions on your data plan, please contact your service provider. 

Q: How do I add my Pima Federal Visa card?
A:
Simply follow these three steps to use your Pima Federal Visa card with Apple Pay: 

1) Open Passbook® on your device
2) Select the link “Add Credit or Debit Card”
3) Tap the camera icon and take a picture of your card. Enter the security code found on the back of your card and complete any required fields. 

Q: Where can I use Apple Pay?
A: You can use Apple Pay to make a purchase in stores wherever Visa contactless payments are accepted. Just look for the contactless and/or Apple Pay symbol at checkout. 

Apple Pay may also be used within participating merchant apps with supported devices. Look for the “Buy with Apple Pay” or “Apple Pay” button at checkout within these apps.

Q: How do I use Apple Pay?
A:
To make a purchase in person, simply hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID. Once your payment has been processed successfully you will hear a beep and feel a subtle vibration from your device. For purchases made within an app select the “Buy with Apple Pay” icon and place your finger on Touch ID. 

Q: Is it safe to use Apple Pay?
A:
Yes. With Apple Pay, instead of your card number being stored on your phone or given to the merchant, a unique Device Account Number is created specifically for your device. 

Q: How will my Apple Pay transaction appear on my statement?
A:
Apple Pay transactions will appear either as a debit card or credit card transaction, depending on the method of payment. 

Q: What if I get an error message?
A:
If you are unable to complete the process and receive an error message, please give us a call at 520-887-5010. If you have questions regarding your device or troubleshooting please contact your service provider and/or Apple Inc. 

Q: What if I lose my card or my phone?
A:
If your card is lost or stolen, please call us at 520.887.5010 and be sure to mention you are an Apple Pay user.  In addition to ordering you a new card we will also deactivate Apple Pay on the lost or stolen card. After business hours, call the number on the back of your card. Once you receive your new card, you will simply add it to Apple Pay by following the same easy steps. If your device is lost or stolen, please call your service provider as well as Pima Federal so that we may disable your card for Apple Pay use. Your card will still work, however it will not be available to access through Apple Pay.
